I recommend finding a stylist yourself, without the bias and without the "trying to help" mentality. You don't choose your hair stylist because you're interested in charity. You choose a stylist based on professionalism and satisfaction. I offer both and I invite you to put me to the test. Selecting the right cut is one of the most important abilities of a stylist. Some people come to a salon with a vague idea of what they want, so it's up to the stylist to choose the best aspects of the client's features to highlight. A good stylist recognizes that color should be compatible with your skin tone and accent your eyes.

When you go for a celebrity haircut, try to bring a photograph of the exact style. If you show up to a salon and say "I want to look like Jenifer Aniston", the stylist has to try to guess which instance of Jen you have in mind. Avoid bringing in photographs of super models on magazine covers and such since Photoshop does more work on that hair than the stylist does.
